An awareness program was conducted on 10th October, 2025 by the BSR officials from the Ministry of infrastructure and transport to familiarize the Dzongkhag engineers, technicians and contractors with the updated Bhutan Schedule of Rates (BSR). The session highlighted how the BSR is adopted according to the time motion study and collecting of market rates from the suppliers/hardware stores.
Moreover, what are the recent updates incorporated in the BSR, particularly the inclusion of modern construction items such as PVC and WPC (Wood Plastic Composite) items for doors and windows, tactile floor tiles, formwork, etc. These updates were made to reflect the growing adoption of durable, cost-effective, and environment-friendly materials in construction works.
Furthermore, the program was aimed at enhancing the capacity of engineers, site supervisors, and contractors to effectively apply the revised BSR items and utilize time and motion studies in day-to-day implementation, ensuring quality, efficiency, and value for money in public works.
