Area and location.

Yoeseltse gewog lies on a road head and about 28 kms from the Dzongkhag Headquarters. It is one of the smallest gewog covering about 22.95 square kilometers of area. The gewog is bordered by Ugyentse and Norbugang gewogs to east, Sangngachholing geog to the west and the Indian state of West Bengal to the south and west.

Climate.

The gewog experiences mostly heavy shower with annual rainfall ranging from 1500mm to 4000 mm. summer is hot and humid, winter is dry and cold with the mean annual temperature of 19.2 degree Celsius. Gewog falls in sub-tropical monsoon zone.

Types of Soil.

Almost all parts of gewog are dominated by the red and brown soil, which is porous, friable and non-retentive of moisture. Apart from this, the gewog has also sandy and loamy soils toward its south.
