As part of the ongoing health transformation efforts, a significant handover ceremony took place on August 23rd, 2023. This event marked the transition of responsibilities between the Offtg. Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and the District Health Officer (DHO) of Samtse Dzongkhag. The ceremony was graced by Dasho Dzongda and attended by Dasho Dzongrab, relevant Sector heads and Unit In-charges from Samtse General Hospital.

The core objective of this event was to facilitate the transfer of management responsibilities. This encompassed a wide range of functions, including clinical, human resources, and administrative aspects, from the Dzongkhag Health Sector to the District Hospital Management. This strategic realignment aims to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of healthcare services.

  This transition is being executed in strict adherence to an executive order issued by the Ministry of Health.
