On 2nd June, coinciding with the Coronation of His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo, Social Forestry Day was celebrated under the theme “Celebrating Social Forestry Day – A Tribute to His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo’s Legacy of Conservation and Environmental Stewardship.”
The event, organized by the Divisional Forest Office, Samtse, was graced by the Dzongda, Lam Neten, Drangpoen, Dungpa of Tashicholing Dungkhag, and officials from Sangacholing and Namgaycholing Gewogs.
The Chief Guest commended the Department of Forests and Park Services for its leadership in conservation and reminded all citizens of their role as environmental trustees.
The event also aligned with the monthly Zero Waste Hour. A total of 220 saplings were planted, with full participation from the Division’s staff.
The management extended heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved in the successful observance of the day.
