It shares borders with India’s West Bengal state and the Dichu River. The area experiences a sub-tropical monsoon climate with hot, humid summers, cold, dry winters, and rainfall ranging from 1500mm to 4000mm. The soil types are alluvial, sandy, and clayey loam. The Dungkhag is home to diverse ethnic groups, including Lhotshampas, Drukpas, and Lhops, and is rich in agricultural land and forest cover.
