Mandate
- Provision of Quality Healthcare Services: Ensuring accessible and high-quality medical care for all residents of Samtse Dzongkhag, including both preventive and curative services, with an emphasis on primary healthcare.
- Public Health Promotion: Promoting and implementing health education programs to encourage healthy lifestyles, disease prevention, and awareness of critical health issues such as nutrition, sanitation, and mental health.
- Medical Care and Treatment: Providing timely and effective medical treatment through well-equipped health facilities, including district hospitals, health centers, and community-based services.
- Health Program Implementation: Designing and delivering health programs that address key public health concerns such as maternal and child health, immunization, communicable and non-communicable diseases, and emergency healthcare services.
- Health Policy and Planning: Supporting the implementation of national health policies and aligning local health strategies with the government’s vision to improve the overall health outcomes of the population.
- Capacity Building and Training: Building the capacity of healthcare professionals through continuous training and skill development, ensuring that medical staff are equipped to handle evolving healthcare challenges.
- Collaboration and Partnerships: Collaborating with national health authorities, local government bodies, and non-governmental organizations to enhance healthcare delivery and public health initiatives.
