Nationwide River Cleaning to Celebrate World Environment Day
In alignment with the national initiative to commemorate World Environment Day 2025, the Samtse Dzongkhag Administration spearheaded a massive river cleaning campaign across key river sites, including Dhamdum River, Sukriti River, and Buduney River.
This event was part of Bhutan’s collective action under this year’s Nationwide River Cleaning to Celebrate World Environment Day, emphasizing environmental stewardship and community participation in preserving our vital natural resources.

- Samtse Rabdey, who also contributed by cleaning their surrounding areas as part of the campaign

The cleaning activity not only helped reduce waste and pollution along the riverbanks but also reinforced the shared responsibility we all hold toward protecting our environment.
The Samtse Dzongkhag Administration extends heartfelt gratitude to Sersang Private Limited for generously donating packaged drinking water, and to other donors who contributed various refreshments for the participants. Your support was instrumental in making the event successful and enjoyable for all involved.
