Today, on the auspicious occasion of the 70th Birth Anniversary of Her Majesty Gyalyum Azhi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck, the Sertog (golden pinnacle) was ceremonially installed on the chorten being constructed by the retired armed forces personnel at Samtse core town.
The sacred event was presided over by the Lam Neten of Samtse Rabdey and commenced with the offering of butter lamps and the recitation of Zhabten for Her Majesty The Queen Mother, praying for Her Majesty’s continued good health and long life.
Gracing the occasion were the Dasho Dzongdag, Dasho Brigadier, Dasho Gupda, heads of regional and sectoral offices, members of the business community, and other well-wishers.
On this special and joyous occasion, Samtse Dzongkhag joins the nation in offering our deepest respect, heartfelt wishes, and prayers to Her Majesty The Queen Mother Azhi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck.
