The Procurement Section conducted a two-day awareness program in Samtse on the Procurement Rules and Regulations (PRR) 2025 and the Electronic Government Procurement (eGP) system.

The program served as a platform to deepen the understanding and strengthen the implementation of public procurement and contract management across local government offices. Key topics included procurement planning, the three modes of tendering, exclusion and debarment of non-compliant bidders, contract administration, structuring procurement units, central procurement of ICT equipment, rebate collection practices, and effective use of the e-Government Procurement (EGP) system.

The session brought together members of the Dzongkhag Tender Committees (DTCs) from the Drungkhags, Gewogs, and Dzongkhag Administration. Participants actively engaged in discussions, tackled practical challenges, sought clarifications on prevailing issues, and shared experiences to promote greater transparency, accountability, and optimal utilization of public resources.

The program concluded with participants reaffirming their commitment to uphold procurement norms and contract management standards, reflecting a collective resolve to strengthen good governance and protect public interests.
