Tading Gewog Administration is one of the gewogs closest to Phuentsholing Thromde, located just about 10 kilometers away. The gewog is uniquely positioned along two major routes—the Phuentsholing–Samtse Secondary Highway and the Phuentsholing–Gomtu National Highway—making it easily accessible and well-connected.
Tading Gewog is home to a diverse community of people living together in harmony, sharing the beauty of the land. Among them are the Lhops (also known as Doyas), a rare indigenous community that continues to preserve its unique culture and traditions. They wear distinctive gho and kira, build simple bamboo houses that stand out from other structures, and follow their own customs and religious practices. Their traditional white attire remains a powerful symbol of cultural identity and heritage.
Blessed with fertile land, the gewog thrives on agriculture. Hardworking farmers cultivate a wide range of crops and sell their fresh produce at roadside vegetable counters along the highway. These stalls not only provide visitors with affordable farm products but also offer a glimpse into the gewog’s vibrant local economy.
The gewog is equally rich in natural beauty. The Amochu Bridge serves as a gateway to scenic attractions, including a stunning waterfall located about 6 km away. This waterfall has become a popular spot for visitors, complemented by a small Hindu Mandir nearby where devotees come to pray. Local hotels and roadside vendors further add to the travel experience by offering fresh farm products and warm hospitality.
About 6 km from the gewog office lies the well-maintained GL Eco-Tourism Center, established by Mr. Guru Drukpa. This site has become a key attraction, demonstrating how eco-tourism can flourish in harmony with nature and community life.
Religious and cultural landmarks enrich the gewog even further. The Buddhist Lhakhang at Pangzhing village, situated along the highway near Tashithang School, welcomes hundreds of visitors regularly. Similarly, the Hindu Mandir at Lhaptshaka village, along with the Highway Inn facilities, enhances the gewog’s ability to cater to both tourists and spiritual seekers.
With its unique cultural heritage, fertile farmlands, natural wonders, and religious diversity, Tading Gewog truly stands out as one of the most promising eco-tourism destinations in the region.
