The Chain-Link Fencing Project at Sombek, Sangngacholing Gewog was successfully inaugurated on 19th September 2025 by the Hon’ble Dasho Dzongdag.
Implemented with financial support from the Food Security & Agriculture Productivity Project (FSAPP) , the project was executed at a cost of Nu. 7.2 million, covering a total length of 4.3 km. It will directly benefit 72 households and secure approximately 90 acres of agricultural land. This initiative is expected to significantly reduce human-wildlife conflict, strengthen food security, and improve the livelihoods of farming communities in the gewog.
In his address, the Hon’ble Dasho commended the efforts of the farmers, gewog, and dzongkhag officials, and urged all beneficiaries to take collective responsibility in maintaining the fencing for long-term sustainability.
The Dzongkhag Administration, Samtse, extends its heartfelt gratitude to the FSAPP, Department of Agriculture (DoA) and all stakeholders for the support and partnership in uplifting rural livelihoods and ensuring sustainable community development through this Chain link fencing.
