The Samtse Dzongkhag Administration proudly celebrated the 118th National Day at the Public Sports Ground, Samtse, with great patriotism and joy. The 118th National Day of Bhutan was celebrated in Samtse with the Chibdrel of the Chief Guest and the portrait of the First King, Gongsar Ugyen Wangchuck. The event was graced by Ministers, MPs, National Council members, distinguished Indian guests, and BIFA members.

The Chief Guest, Dasho Dzongdag, was warmly welcomed with a traditional ceremonial reception by Members of Parliament, Samtse Rabdey, regional heads, Dzongkhag sector heads, Gups, representatives from the Royal Bhutan Police (RBP), Desuups, and civil servants from various agencies—an expression of unity, respect, and loyalty to Tsa-Wa-Sum.

The celebration was enlivened by vibrant traditional dances, showcasing Bhutan’s rich cultural heritage. Participants also received a souvenir pamphlet commemorating the Royal Wedding of 2011, a cherished reminder of the enduring bond between the Royal Family and the people.

Adding to the festivities, a free lottery was conducted, offering participants a chance to win exciting prizes, while a range of fun games engaged and entertained spectators of all ages. With heartfelt gratitude, we thank all the teachers and students of Samtse LSS, Samtse HSS, and the Municipal Office for cleaning the venue after the program.

The 118th National Day in Samtse stood as a testament to Bhutan’s sovereignty, peace, and harmony, reaffirming the collective commitment of the people to uphold unity, loyalty, and service. The celebration highlighted the enduring legacy of our Kings and the vibrant spirit of the nation, ensuring that these values continue to inspire generations to come.
