The 7th Dzongkhag Tshogdu of the 3rd Local Government was convened on 14th April 2025. The session was chaired by the Dzongkhag Tshogdu Thrizin and Dasho Dzongrab, and was observed by the Hon’ble National Council Member, Dasho Drungpas of Dorokha and Tashicholing Dungkhags, along with regional and sector heads. The opening ceremony was graced by Dasho Drangpoen and Lam Neten of Samtse Rabdey.
The key agenda points deliberated during the session included:
- Proposals for road improvement and widening projects.
- Suggested amendments to tourism regulations.
- Discussions on the delegation of insurance collection responsibilities.
- Issues related to land and food ration distribution in Schools.
- The need to strengthen and support community-based initiatives.
- Suggestions for the relocation of the fuel depot in the interest of public safety.
- Reports of fuel shortages, particularly related to LPG cylinders.
- A request for the implementation of document verification technologies.
Many more issues and proposals concerning the welfare of the people were also thoroughly discussed.
The session concluded with reaffirmed commitments to address the issues raised and to further enhance service delivery and development initiatives across the Dzongkhag.
