The Culture Sector of Samtse Dzongkhag is dedicated to preserving and promoting Bhutanโ€™s rich cultural heritage, traditions, and values.

Mandate

  1. Cultural Preservation: Safeguarding traditional art forms, rituals, festivals, languages, and heritage sites to ensure their continuity for future generations.
  2. Cultural Promotion: Organizing and supporting events, festivals, exhibitions, and programs that highlight the cultural identity and significance of Samtse Dzongkhag and Bhutan as a whole.
  3. Community Engagement: Encouraging and facilitating active community participation in cultural activities, ensuring that cultural practices remain relevant and dynamic in todayโ€™s society.
  4. Education and Awareness: Conducting educational programs, workshops, and outreach initiatives to raise awareness about Bhutanese culture, traditions, and their importance to national identity.
  5. Support for Traditional Artists and Artisans: Providing resources and platforms to empower local artists and artisans, preserving traditional crafts, music, dance, and other cultural expressions.
  6. Collaboration with National Institutions: Working in partnership with national cultural organizations, schools, and other stakeholders to further Bhutanโ€™s cultural objectives at both the local and national levels.
