Yoeseltse/ Ghumauney Gewog

Yoeseltse Gewog, located 28 km from the Dzongkhag Headquarters, is one of the smallest gewogs, covering 22.95 km². It is bordered by Ugyentse and Norbugang Gewogs to the east, Sangngachholing Gewog to the west, and West Bengal to the south and west. Falling under a sub-tropical monsoon zone, it experiences hot, humid summers and dry, cold winters, with annual rainfall between 1500mm and 4000mm. The soil is mainly red and brown, porous, and non-moisture retentive, with sandy and loamy soils in the south. The gewog consists of five chiwogs: Zurigang-Jigmedthang, Rinchhenphoog-Samtsenchu, Koenchhogling-Soenakhar, Dungkar, and Pelkithang-Rangjoongling.

Types of Soil

Almost all parts of gewog are dominated by the red and brown soil, which is porous, friable and non-retentive of moisture. Apart from this, the gewog has also sandy and loamy soils toward its south.
