The Samtse Dzongkhag Administration proudly witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between PW Waste Recovery Center (Samtse & Tashicholing) and Green Road Bhutan. The ceremony was graced by Dasho Dzongrab and attended by sector heads and officials, reaffirming our commitment to sustainable, community-driven waste solutions.
โป๏ธ About Green Road Bhutan
Green Road Bhutan is the countryโs first and only company to use waste plastics in road blacktopping. Since 2015, they have:
- Blacktopped 160.5 kilometers of roads
- Reused over 857 tons of waste plastic
This initiative contributes significantly to Bhutanโs sustainable infrastructure development.
๐ MoU Highlights
Waste Plastic Collection & Shredding: PW Waste Recovery Center will manage collection and shredding of plastic waste across Samtse.
Sustainable Infrastructure: The shredded plastic will be used in blacktopping roads, making them greener and more resilient. Green Road operations will soon begin in Samtse.
Awareness & Advocacy: Both parties will conduct joint community outreach programs to promote responsible waste management and recycling.
